Every once in a while, all the cosmic forces in the universe come together and create the perfect scenario - all the what ifs, the what might have beens, and the errors in judgement disappear and your life is suddenly a Hallmark movie! Every young girl dreams of a handsome knight in shining armor riding on a white stallion coming to rescue her. Mine showed up in shorts and flip flops and driving a blue Bronco! John and I have both worked in the transportation industry for years and over those years our paths crossed many times - some of them not so pleasant! We both moved away (John to New Orleans and I to Knoxville) and then moved back after a couple of years. We ended up working for a mutual friend at his manufacturing company. As time went by, we began talking more and more at work. John asked me out on April 22, 1995 and after a somewhat less than perfect first date (most of you know the details), this was the beginning of our story.Our friends were skeptical - said it wouldn't last (couldn't last). After all what could a die hard conservative , Ole Miss loving guy from the Mississippi Delta have in common with a bleeding heart liberal, Mississippi State loving girl from the Hill Country? But, we didn't try to change each other and found that we are more alike than different. And here we are 30+ years later - it has been magical, it has been fun, and it has been filled with love!
